Wireless WAN ( wide area network )

Although a WAN by definition is the exact opposite of a LAN, wiress WANs. ( WWANs ) deserve brief mention here, especially because the disticnation is becoming less and less obvious to ang users.

The celullar WWANs use Cellular data tecnology to cover extremely wide area, Cellular WWAN data transfer rates are consideraby slower tahan wireless LAns, with most advertising between 50Kbps to 2 Mbps.

Celllular rely on coverage by the celullar network provide, so coverage areas for wireless internet access are more or less same as they are for cellular phones. there many diffrent standards for this type of network. Most of them are mobile data standarts that previosly were used only on cell phones, but are icreasingly offered for computing.
